About me 關於我

“Feet, what do I need you for, when I have wings to fly?” I really like this quote from Frida Kahlo, the Mexican painter, who wouldn’t be constrained by her wounded body and allowed her imagination take her to fly. With a disabled body constraining my mobility, I hope I could also fly with the wings of my imagination. Painting may help me fulfill this dream. Thus, also inspired by Frida’s famous selfportraits, I’d like to introduce myself through some self-portraits.

Before ten, I was a happy normal girl. I love to play, read, and think. I am curious about everything. My teacher gave me a nickname called Little Miss Surprise because I always surprised people with a highpitch sound when I found something interesting. If there was any thing strange about me, that was my voice. To be honest, that was the only thing I felt dislike about myself.

On the day after my tenth birthday, I got a terrible headache and suddenly collapsed. After falling into coma for three months, I woke up with a brain tumor and a paralyzed right side of my body. I had to go through several surgeries and chemotherapies to survive. I also needed to learn to accept myself as a new person on wheel chair.
